    1. I don’t think you have to worry about being possessed simply because of your name. Well… unless your name happens to be “Damien” then, yeah, maybe. LOL!

  1. Well this is not the best story! But you did a darn good job at narrateing! Maybe pick stories that are lighter! You talking Bible verses and then you speaking about Satan! Some people get there panties in a wad

  2. I like this podcast very much & am sorry people got offended. I keep an open mind on any of the episodes & think u are fair & just narrating the stories as they are written. If people disagree that’s their right & I appreciate all the various stories. Proud of u for sticking to your guns on keeping the stories context as it is written. p.s. I understand if u don’t read or post this . Just wanted to say keep up the good work!!

  3. FROM AN EMAIL I RECEIVED:
    Hello Darren,
I’ve never done this before, but due to my deep love and respect for you and your podcast, I felt compelled to email with my thoughts.
Ever since the Possession of Angela story, it’s been really uncomfortable listening to Weird Darkness. Which is unfortunate, because I’m truly addicted. I hold your podcast in the ranks of Lore and NoSleep, and I find Weird Darkness the perfect blend of the two. History isn’t pretty, that’s a fact. I am going to be blunt though… Listening to the Possession of Angela was grossly historically inaccurate and frankly cheapened Weird Darkness. It was uncomfortable to listen to from start to finish, it felt like exposing someone with mental health issues rather then the rich narrated stories that I’ve come to know. It was quite mind blowing…
I would also like to point out that Pagans did not CHOOSE to become Christian. The dig at Pagans in that story did not go unnoticed. Allow me educate you… Pagans do not believe in Satan or demons. That’s a Christian, not a Pagan. So, no they did not choose. They were forced or murdered. I’ve have a few book recommendations if you would like farther education.
Also, to address your comment in the last episode. Just because someone of a different faith or way of life does not want to hear bible verses doesn’t not mean they have evil or hate in their heart. For me, Christianity almost destroyed me, I attempted suicide as a Christian. Paganism saved my life, with the love and acceptance that was given to me by my sisters and brother… I’ve never felt more comfortable in my own skin. I am a proud ex Catholic that went to an abusive haunted private school run by nuns for years. This is why I prefer not to have bible verses read to me. I want that chapter in my life closed and forgotten.
May I ask a request of you? I really don’t want to stop listening to Weird Darkness. Please keep the bible verses at the end of the show, so the people that prefer not to hear it can tune out beforehand.
    Keep on being creepy,
    Ashley

    1. MY REPLY:
The favor you are asking is exactly my plan. I am going to continue to use the Bible verses but they will only be at the very end of the episode as I close out the show.
I am so so sorry to hear that you were destroyed by those who would claim to be Christians. I don’t know what happened or what they did to you, but I hear stories so often of people doing things “in the name of God/Jesus/Christ” and in the process they force something down someone’s throat that isn’t biblical in the least. My own bride walked away from the church for a while for that very reason. Unfortunately, it’s people like that who get the press and attention so that’s often all what people see. Probably similar to pagans – it’s only the bad apples that get the spotlight, am I right?
I do hope you keep listening. In fact, I’d love to hear more about this haunted school run by nuns you attended! That sounds fascinating!

    Darren,
I just wanted to write and tell you, that I love your show, the stories are great and you have a great voice it keeps things so interesting!!
I’ve gone back and listen to all the old episodes and I just love them!!
I also wanted to tell you, that I am a born-again Christian as well, and I love that you say scripture at the end of your show, it just gives me peace of mind and I think it’s great that you include that in the show! God bless you Darren, take care and keep doing a great job!
    Bobbie

  5. FROM AN EMAIL I RECEIVED:
Darren love the show and you, but keep doing the show like the stories of Angela. People need to hear about things from all points of view. Pagans and occultist are like liberals . They are intolerant of any point of view except there own . They are the minority. Thanks for reading this , Cindy

  6. FROM AN EMAIL I RECEIVED:
    Hello Darren,
I know you’ve gotten some flack for this episode. Dont worry I’m not emailing you to say I’m going to stop listening as I highly respect you and your podcast. I actually would love to talk to you about narration as I would love to narrate audiobooks and become a voice actor but have been putting off emailing you think you would be too busy to give me advice, but seeing how attententive you are to your e-mails has encouraged me.
I do want to speak with you about this episode though. I kinda rolled my eyes at it for the most part, I couldnt take this woman seriously. She struck me as very narcissistic by insisting on how ‘special’ she was, and seems to want attention because of how ‘unique’ her case is. Frankly if this story is true, I think the demons come back because part of her wants them to. Them attacking her makes her feel special, trust me there are people like this. They like being possessed and claiming they want help so they can keep convincing themselves of how ‘unique’ they are and how ‘special’ they must be for the demons to keep returning. Also her remembering all of this in near perfect detail despite claiming her memory had been affected, so how can she be so sure it happened as she remembered it? What if her list is what the demons wanted her to list off so they have easier access to the rest of us? (I’m slightly joking on that)
What really affected me though, was when she claims that pagans had voluntarily converted to Christianity. My blood ran cold in disgust and anger. Pagans were forced to convert through slaughter and threats. There was blood, people were burned, children were ripped from their pagan parents, given ‘Christian’ names and put in ‘Chrisitian’ homes to convert them. What she said was like saying ‘there wasnt a holocaust’. So yes that I will comment on and it utterly destroyed any credibility for her in my eyes
I was upset by this because I was raised Christian and I was miserable during my time as a Christian. I was haunted by a entity in my house that only fixated on me, and I had hoped God would save me from it. I can go into detail about it, I have a lifetime’s experiance in the paranormal. But instead of protecting me no matter how much I prayed, went to masses, served at the alter, danced for the alter, drew him and his Angels, nothing, just cold silence that left me feeling abandoned. I was left to wonder in my most vulnerable years as a young child what was so wrong with me that i couldnt feel God’s love.
I was agnostic throughout my teen years untill my mid twentys I was just researching religions but i couldnt connect with any Christian sects. I finally devoted myself to Wicca 2 years ago after studying it on and off for years. I’ve finally felt that connection that i had been wanting. I have been praying to the goddess Brigid, as she is the goddess of poetry and I want to become a author. She is a wonderful deity. Originally a goddess in Ireland when Christianity came her following was too strong so the missionaries told her followers they can still worship her but she was now a Christian saint, not a goddess. I have felt her hand and her love and have never been happier.
My point to this is that while I will admit I was bitter with Christianity for a few years, I have come to respect it as it does help and guide people in their time of need. I respect you as a born again Christian, but please respect us that are not Christian and may have had negative experiance with the religion. That womans rose colored version of the conversion of the pagans was beyond awful and I had yet to hear anyone argue it so I would like it addressed. There have been wars faught and its disrespectful to both sides to just brush it off like. People were willing to die for their gods. With that I will get off my soapbox.
I would love to converse with you on your views and we will probably find we meet eye to eye on many things. If I could get some advice on how to break into narration, I would love that as well. I really like your podcast and I feel like we would get along well. So I’d love for you to reply when you have the time.
I will have to email you about all of my supernatural experiences but it might take all day to read that email and I know your time is valuable. Thank you for your time and I wish you my best.
    All of my respect,
    Sam
P.s. I wrote this on my phone during my break at work so I proofread the best of my ability but my keyboard is acting up and auto correct is not my friend.
