No claws or fangs, no paranormal or extraterrestrial menace. The horror here is the depravity, greed, selfishness, and gluttony of humans… or so the filmmakers would have you believe in this heavy-handed social commentary disguised as entertainment. On the plus side, they do make it entertaining and if you don’t mind being preached to by social warriors who are angry at you for being better off financially than others in this world, you’ll have a good time with this as I did. An amazing premise and story with great acting (and voice acting with the English dub over the original Spanish). This felt like it could be a stage play during the first half, until the violence takes over. Despite the filmmakers looking down their nose at me as I eat pizza, Cheez-Its and Diet Mt. Dew while watching, I give this 4 out of 5 screams.
