H.H. Holmes TV Series Coming to Hulu

Scorsese and DiCaprio Producing H.H. Holmes TV Series “The Devil in the White City” for Hulu

Leonardo DiCaprio has long been attached to an adaptation of Erik Larson’s book The Devil In The White City: Murder, Magic And Madness At The Fair That Changed America, the story of real-life serial killer Dr. H.H. Holmes. The book was originally going to be turned into a movie, but now it looks like it’s instead headed to the small screen.

Variety reports today that both DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese will executive produce “The Devil in the White City” for Hulu, a series based on Larson’s book about Holmes.

“The Devil in the White City” tells the true story of two men, an architect and a serial killer, whose fates were forever linked by The Chicago World’s Fair of 1893: Daniel H. Burnham, a brilliant and fastidious architect racing to mark his mark on the world and Henry H. Holmes, a handsome and cunning doctor who fashioned his own pharmaceutical “Murder Castle” on the fair grounds.

When the book was going to be turned into a film, DiCaprio himself was set to play Holmes, but we have no idea if that’s still the plan now that it’s becoming a series at Hulu.

Paramount Television will produce, with executive producers also including Stacey Sher, Rick Yorn, Emma Koskoff, and Jennifer Davisson.
