It’s rumored that an arcade game from 1980 named Berzerk might lead to the real death of its players. Meanwhile, another arcade game from the early 80s, Polybius, was surrounded by controversy as well – causing its players amnesia, heart attacks, and paranoia. Some say the game never existed, others say it most certainly did.

Of course a lot of people likely don’t believe in heaven or hell and many will dismiss such things as mythical tales or folklore. However there are places on Earth that could be considered hell – no not Detroit or Wichita. We’re talking about actual places that look like the entrances to purgatory. And perhaps they really are.

“First Contact” was written by Murray Leinster in 1945. The story is credited as one of the first instances of a universal translator in science fiction. So influential is the story that it won a retro Hugo Award for Best Novelette in 1996.

This episode does have some graphic language and scenes, so it might not be best for younger ears.
