Cloudy With a Chance of Raining Fish

Residents of the Texas town couldn’t believe their eyes when actual fish started to fall from the heavens.

The peculiar deluge, which occurred on Wednesday, was later confirmed by a post on the town’s official Facebook page which reassured readers that the freak weather event “was not a joke.”
“2021 is pulling out all the tricks… including raining fish in Texarkana today,” the post reads.
“Animal rain is a phenomenon that occurs when small water animals like frogs, crabs, and small fish are swept up in waterspouts or drafts that occur on the surface of the earth.”
“They are then rained down at the same time as the rain.”
Numerous residents quickly took to social media to post up their own photographs of the fish rain, while a local news station also got in on the action with a televised report (see below).
“There was a loud crack of thunder,” one witness told the reporter.
“We opened up the back door and looked outside – it was raining real hard – and a fish hit the ground.”
“I said ‘it’s raining fish!’ and Brad was like ‘no it’s not!’ and I’m like ‘no it really is!’.”
