We are all more than familiar with haunted houses – where resident spirits reside. These ghosts or poltergeists may be playful or sinister. They may remove objects from the home, only to replace in a different location – or the item may be lost forever in the space between here and the afterlife. But it’s not only small objects that are lost. You beloved pet dog may go chasing into the forest after an invisible stranger, never to come out again. Your cat may scamper away in terror at the site of absolutely nothing – and vanish from existence, not a whisker to be found. Of course, we also see on the news people – adults and children – simply vanishing off the face of the earth. No clues whatsoever as to what happened to them. But when is the last time you heard of an entire home vanishing without a trace? I’m not speaking of the occupants of the home – I’m referring to the actual home itself. The brick, mortar and wood house – completely gone, seemingly overnight, with no explanation. It’s hard to believe, but it happens – and more often that you can possibly imagine. Sometimes the homes return; sometimes they don’t.
