UFO Causes Flight Delays in Turkey

By T.K. Randall for Unexplained-Mysteries.com

Sightings of an unidentified object caused considerable disruption for air traffic in southeastern Turkey last weekend.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the radar of a passenger aircraft picked up an unidentified flying object at an altitude of 9,000ft over the city of Gaziantep on Saturday.

Air traffic control – which had also independently verified the existence of the unknown object – quickly moved to redirect flights to airports in Adana and Sanliurfa.

In total, more than 18 flights were delayed and several others cancelled.

Exactly what the object could have been, however, still remains something of a mystery.

According to the Gaziantep Airport State Airports Authority (DHMI), a NOTAM (notice to airman) was not issued and flights resumed as normal around 12 hours later.
